The 33-year-old all-rounder Stokes appeared to have injured his hamstring during their game in Manchester, and two Superchargers staff members escorted him into the stands. He hit a fast single and was in agony on the ground when he grasped the back of his left leg. On August 21, England and Sri Lanka play the first game of their three-match Test series at the same Old Trafford stadium.
After breaking his right little finger while trying to make a catch during the most recent third Test victory over the West Indies, Crawley has been ruled out.
The 26-year-old’s focus will now be on getting ready for England’s tour. Olly Stone, a seam bowler from Nottinghamshire, is making his Test team comeback after a 2021 absence, and he will be looking to add to his three caps.
August 21 marks the start of the first Test match between England and Sri Lanka at Old Trafford. The Oval will host the second and third Tests, respectively.

With Crawley sidelined, Dan Lawrence is set to open alongside Ben Duckett.
Lawrence has been included in several England squads but has not played a Test since 2022.
The 27-year-old moved from Essex to Surrey over the winter and has made an impressive start to the County Championship season, averaging 53.09 at a strike rate of 74.68 with two centuries and three fifties.
