The PCB explains why the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh Karachi Test would not be watched by the public.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) affirmed on Wednesday, August 14, that spectators will not be permitted for the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, which will take place at Karachi’s National Stadium. The first game of the two-match Test series is scheduled for August 21 in Rawalpindi, while the second match is scheduled for August 29 in Karachi.
The second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the National Stadium in Karachi will take place behind closed doors, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated on Wednesday, August 14. In a statement, PCB stated that although it was a tough choice, it had to be made with the safety of the spectators in mind because the National Stadium will be undergoing construction to improve the spectator experience for the Champions Trophy 2025.
“We are aware of the significant impact our ardent fans have on cricket, as they serve as an inspiration and source of motivation for our players. But our first concern is for our fans’ well-being and safety.
“Ticket sales have been suspended immediately as a result of this decision. Those who have already bought tickets will instantly be refunded in full, and the money will be credited to the account information they submitted at the time of purchase.
“We want to reassure our cherished fans that the ongoing stadium improvements are intended to improve their experience, even though we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may create. The PCB went on, “The upgrades are a part of our commitment to improving fan accessibility and getting the stadium ready for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be the first ICC event held in Pakistan since 1996.
The first game of the two-match Test series is scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, August 21, with the second match taking place in Karachi on August 29. From the standpoint of World Test Championship (WTC) points, the series is crucial for both Pakistan and Bangladesh because both sides are still vying for a berth in the championship.
